We nibble the stump with a machine which shreds it into small pieces, including the surface roots. We chomp to a depth of 5 to 8 inches, which allows you to sow sod. We work in tight spaces or near buildings. For a stump that is half uprooted by winds or during a storm, we use a backhoe to completely pull the stump out.
